I joined in on the stream in the 3rd quarter because I was busy getting my
post out and wrapping up other things beforehand. I wanted to go back to the
start of the broadcast like you can do with YouTube Live streams but it
wouldn't let me. I can go back and watch the replay of the whole broadcast so that was good. I didn't understand why it was buffering though. Replays of YouTube livestreams never buffer so I guess Amazon does things differently with their videos that eats up my internet speed. I expected a lot of people to tune in and the Chargers-Chiefs game garnered the most signups in Amazon history with a average of 15.3 million viewers.
I wasn't really blown away by the personalities. Charissa Thompson and Kirk Herbstreit were too good to be let go by Fox and ESPN so they're getting 2 paychecks. Recent retirees Ryan Fitzpatrick, Richard Sherman and Andrew Whitworth does the pre and postshows so it's nice to see them continue to work. I didn't notice Tony Gonzalez isn't with Fox anymore. Honestly the only person I really cared about was Al Michaels. The postgame show really dragged on because they was just repeating themselves. I get Fox and ESPN has a pre preshow but does Amazon really need a post postshow? Especially since there's really nothing of value being said in the post postshow. By the time you read this, that show would've finally went off.
THE GAMES
Pittsburgh Steelers 16
Cleveland Browns 20
I hate when players get blamed for scoring touchdowns instead of
the defense for
choking away a
late lead. Nick Chubb scored leaving 1:55 left on the clock giving the
Browns a 30-17 lead in the game (Cade York missed the PAT). So what does
the defense do to protect the lead?
- They immediately give up a 66 yard TD.
- Then failed to get the onside kick.
- AND THEN gave up ANOTHER TD with 22 seconds left on the clock!
New Orleans Saints 17
Carolina Panthers 10
Last week wasn't great for the Aints with their 5 turnovers
(4 by Jameis Winston). It was a defensive
battle for 3 quarters up until Mike Evans
laying out
Marshon Lattimore (again). With the Saints star CB ejected along with Evans, the Bucs took
advantage and dropped 17 on the Saints to win the game 20-10. It didn't
help that Jameis regressed to his old
Fresh Turnovers
Bucs days with the 3 INTs. He was doing so well
before the injury
last season in limiting the turnovers but I guess old habits die hard. I'm
surprised Lattimore didn't get suspended too.
Houston Texans 16
Chicago Bears 9
It's a shame the NFL
doesn't do
insights anymore on game matchups. It was nice little tidbits I
could rely on if I can't think of anything to put here in the previews. I
can still see how the teams matchup against each other and yeesh, these
offenses suck! These are bottom of the barrel offenses with middle of the
road to good defenses. It's early in the season so these rankings will
likely change but it's still nice to see how they influence the simulation
in picking winners.
Kansas City Chiefs 20
Indianapolis Colts 17
I don't want to overreact but Matt Ryan isn't the savior Colts fans was
hoping he will be.
So far
he thrown for 547 yards, a TD and 4 INTs. Compare that to the man they ran
out of town Carson Wentz who has 650 yards 7 TDs and 3 INTs with WFT. They
have plenty of time to turnaround their
mid team but the
Colts faithful are starting to sweat bullets over their underperformance. Getting
blanked
by the Jags sucked but at least their favorite punter got
nominated
for the HOF!
Buffalo Bills 20
Miami Dolphins 13
Another week, another
dominant
win over a playoff team. With a
top 5
offense and defense, you would think this would be a blowout, especially
with Miami's terrible defense. In other news, it's nice to know Dane Jackson
walked out
of the hospital after a
neck injury
from Monday night.
Detroit Lions 16
Minnesota Vikings 20
The Vikings were feeling themselves after a
decisive
victory over the Packers, only to be
slapped back
to reality by the Eagles. Their
#21 ranked
offense and defense is probably why they was on both ends of the 7-23(4)
scores in consecutive weeks. If they don't want to be on the loosing end
of that score again, they need to run the ball more in this rivalry game.
Baltimore Ravens 6
New England Patriots 20
WTF was that
Baltimore? You had a comfortable lead then you pissed on yourself. It's
like someone turned the difficulty up on the game and Tua turned into Dan
Marino throwing for
6 TDs as he led the Dolphins to a 28 point 4th quarter and a come from
behind win. Even
former players are flabbergasted by how awful the Ravens defense was late! G'luck out there Lamar!
Cincinnati Bengals 6
New York Jets 37
Was last year a fluke? It sure looks like it! People are concerned about
the
amount of sacks Joe Burrow is taking (13) but that has
ALWAYS
been a problem with this team! It was a
problem
when he got
injured
in his rookie year. It was a
problem
last season when he had the record for
most times sack by a QB playing in the Super Bowl. Now here he goes again leading
the league in times sacked. It's like his linemen are mad at how popular
he is so they let defenders by unobstructed. I don't personally think the
Jets will blow them out but a win is not farfetched.
Las Vegas Raiders 17
Tennessee Titans 27
What's worse? Getting blown out in primetime or
shitting away
a
16 point lead
in the 4th and literally fumble the game away in overtime? Neither team
deserves to win but I take the Titans.
Philadelphia Eagles 24
Washington Express 10
This is where I speed through the previews because I'm bad at
clock management. Go Birds!
Jacksonville Jaguars 20
Los Angeles Chargers 14
Well would ya look at that :) #DUUUVAL pic.twitter.com/o4JWUoxcpR

Los Angeles Rams 7
Arizona Cardinals 10
When he's not being slapped in the face, Kyler Murray is known as a gamer. People say you should bet against him due to the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. It's likely he has a advanced copy of the game like other streamers so that release shouldn't distract him too much.
Atlanta Falcons 21
Seattle Seahawks 10
Following in Kirk Cousins' footsteps of trademarking a phrase he made up, Geno Smith filed to trademark his postgame comments as well. With everything he's been through, why the hell not.
Green Bay Packers 30
Tompa Bay Buccaneers 10
To the surprise of no one, the NFL
denied Mike Evans' suspension appeal. So the Bucs signed Cole Beasley to the practice squad and promoted Kaylon Geiger to the main roster. These receivers are not gonna help them win this game but it's nice to have them around.
San Francisco 49ers 30
Denver Broncos 17
So the Jimmy Garoppolo-Trey Lance QB situation worked itself out. It sucks that Trey broke his ankle but at least it delays the decision on what to do with Jimmy G for another year. Do they keep him as a backup or ship him off somewhere else? Teams wasn't really interested in him this past offseason but maybe he will draw interest if he leads the Niners to the playoffs again.
Dallas Cowboys 10
New York Giants 34
LAST WEEK 9-7
