I was gonna talk about the movers and shakers of the trade deadline but
news broke
of former Raiders WR Henry Ruggs III being charged with DUI that killed the
driver he crashed into. This motherfucker was going
156 MPH with a
.16% blood alcohol level with a loaded gun when he crashed into Tina O.
Tintor and her dog Maxi literally burning them to death from the impact. I
will never understand why these
dumbasses
keep driving drunk when the NFLPA has a service that provides rides for them
to prevent this shit. Hell, if they don't want to do that, bring a
designated driver or HIRE A DRIVER! Maybe it's culture or roster size but I
don't hear athletes from other sports getting DUIs this much. Fuck this guy.
I hope Tintor's family sue him for all he's got. It won't bring Tina and
Maxi back but they could keep his family from enjoying his money.
THE GAMES
New York Jets 34
Indianapolis Colts 14
The Jets find themselves in a
interesting position
after Mike White led them to a
upset victory
over the Bengals. He was Captain Checkdown taking what the defense gave
him, letting his receivers rack up the YACs finishing off 37/45 for 405
passing yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs. In other words, he did the opposite of
what Zach Wilson was doing all season holding on to the ball and getting
sacked for a league high until he got injured. As with past breakout
performances, it's likely the Bengals just wasn't prepared for him and he
will come back to Earth once teams get game tape on him. Until then, I
would ride with him and let Zach learn from the bench. This season is a
lost cause anyway, no need to ruin your rookie any further when you have a
adequate backup who could go on a hot streak and be traded after the
season.
Atlanta Falcons 23
New Orleans Saints 0
Well this is a bummer. Jameis Winston was having a nice season passing for
1,170 yards, 14 TDs, 3 INTs and rushing for 166 yards with a TD but he's
out for the season
with a torn ACL plus MCL damage. He showed that he can hold on to the ball
and his turnover machine days was behind him, which makes this injury even
more disappointing. I assume former Bronco Trevor Siemian will take over
as starter since Taysom Hill is more useful as a utility man than strictly
as a QB. The good news is Jameis
didn't have to air it out
for them to go 5-2 so all Trevor has to do is find the open man and keep
the turnovers to a minimal. The bad news is WR Michael Thomas
won't return
this season due to a setback in rehab of his ankle injury. What a bad time
to face a Falcons team who's hyped for the Atlanta Braves
winning the World Series.
Denver Broncos 35
Dallas Cowboys 42
Speaking of former Broncos, Von Miller was
traded to the Rams
for two 2022 picks. It's great for Von who now goes to a Super Bowl
contender but let it be known, they're "not approaching a rebuild" according to Broncos GM George Paton. This team is very
middle of the road
so I don't see anyone here to build the team around in the future. Neither
the offense nor defense is notable enough to carry the team while the
other side of the ball figure things out. Maybe things will change next
year like the Cowboys where they improved so much through the draft,
starting Cooper Rush
wasn't a death knell
as Dak recovers from his calf injury.
#FireUpChips
New England Patriots 37
Carolina Panthers 20
Panthers CB Stephon Gilmore gets to play against his old team who he felt
mishandled
his injury. He didn't like that they moved money from this season to last
season so here he is in Carolina. He may add to a
great defense
but I see the Patriots coming home with a win.
Minnesota Vikings 31
Baltimore Ravens 17
Fun fact, both times where a TD completion between a quarterback who had
the same first name as his receiver's last name and vice versa happened
against the Vikings
by the Cowboys! Cooper Rush to Amari Cooper and
Andy Dalton to Dalton Schultz. That is all.
Cleveland Browns 31
Cincinnati Bungles 7
The simulation must've predicted Cincy to still be shellshocked from
losing to the Jets
to generate this blowout. All the while the Browns have some
internal drama
due to Odell Beckham Jr's dad
sharing a video
of all the times he's been open this season so far. We're past the trade
deadline so either the Browns tell Odell and Baker Mayfield to suck it up
and move on or cut Odell to get past this situation. It's funny how family
can torpedo a locker room.
WOOF! WOOF! Browns fired Odell Beckham Jr on his birthday! WOOF! WOOF! |
Buffalo Bills
41
Jacksonville Jaguars 9
Here's some more same name related fun facts. This will be the
4th time
a QB faced off against a defensive player with the same name as him. It
happened twice in 1950 with Eagles QB Tommy Thompson vs. Browns LB Tommy
Thompson then again in 1997 with another Bill QB Todd Collins vs. Patriots
LB Todd Collins. It's weird how it's always QB vs LB but whatever.
I present to you Josh Allen 1 (2019-), Josh Allen 2 (2007), Josh Allen 3 (2014-18) and Josh Allen 4 (2018-) |
Houston Texans 12
Miami Dolphins 18
Well that was a
waste of time. People were thinking Deshaun Watson would be traded for Tua Tagovailoa
but nothing happened. The Dolphins wanted his sexual assault cases
settled
so Watson tried to get the women to sign NDAs but they refused. Then the
Texans raised their asking price and here we are with one QB continuing to
be paid to sit at home and the other QB playing for a team that doesn't
want him (and injured). At least Tyrod Taylor is back in as starter.
Las Vegas Raiders 41
New York Giants 27
From Gruden's offensive emails being leaked to Ruggs killing a woman in a
car crash, what next will befall this organization? If they somehow win
the Super Bowl, movie studios will blowup their phones offering to make a
movie about this team. News studios will talk nonstop about their
resiliency and leaning on faith to get through their trial and
tribulations. They will be on GMA, The View, Today Show and more and it
will get tiring very fast.
RIP Tina Tintor and Maxi.
Los Angeles Chargers 20
Philadelphia Eagles 28
The Chargers may have a better record and a
top ten defense but this team does nothing for me. The insight for this game says
"Something Has To Give" where Philly haven't won 2 straight games since
Weeks 7-8 and LA haven't lost 3 straight games since Weeks 8-10 of last
season. It would be fitting for this game to end in a tie but I will go
with a Eagles win instead.
Green Bay Packers 21
Kansas City Chiefs 34
HOOBOY Aaron Rodgers riled up people when news broke that he
tested positive
for coronavirus and is unvaccinated. He says he's immunized and tried to
convince the NFL that his alterative treatments are just as good as the
vaccines. Unsurprisingly, that didn't work so he's been treated as a
unvaccinated player all season wearing masks indoors, daily testing and
all that jazz. The NFL will
investigate
the Packers to see if they broke protocols while some fans are
blaming his fiancée
for getting him in this situation. I assume he's doing something similar
to what Joe Rogan did when he
caught corona. He took Ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies, vitamin C and
other stuff and got better a couple days later. Here's hoping Aaron
bounces back quick and goes on Joe's (or Pat McAfee) podcast to talk about
his experience (REEEEEEEEE). The Chiefs will
still prepare
the same way even with Jordan Love starting in his first career
game.
Arizona Cardinals 34
San Francisco 49ers 14
Kyler Murray injured his ankle
last Thursday
vs the Packers and
haven't practiced
since then. I feel they should do what the
Cowboys did
with Dak and rest Kyler, start Colt McCoy and run the ball most of the
game. The
49ers defense is the only thing worth a shit on this team so there's no need for
sending Kyler out there to aggravate his injury when Colt can fill in this
week instead.
Tennessee Titans 24
Los Angeles Rams 17
It's clear the Rams are in Win Now mode. They traded for Matthew Stafford
in the offseason. They traded for Von Miller this week. They already have
stars like Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, etc producing at a
7-1 level. The GM has a "Fuck Them Picks" mug. It would be a shame if the
Derrick Henryless
Titans kill all the good vibes they feeling with a upset victory. And it
probably won't happen but I want Adrian Peterson to go out
4th in career rushing yards.
Chicago Bears 20
Pittsburgh Steelers 13
I'm running long with this preview again so I close it with this...FIRE
MATT NAGY!!!
LAST WEEK 10-5
OVERALL 70-52
