Will The Bengals Bungle Their Championship Opportunity? Super Bowl LVI Preview

Super Bowl LVI Los Angeles Rams vs Cincinnati Bengals

I would like to congratulate myself for inspiring the Bengals to make the Super Bowl by calling them the Bungles for the whole season. I was angry at them for their blatant safety hazards causing Joe Burrow to get hurt last season. Then I was incensed that they handwaved his injury and introduced new jerseys for this season without upgrading their offensive line. Burrow passed for 4,611 yards with 34 TDs and 14 INTs but was sacked (HOLY SHIT!!!) 51 times. How the hell he had time to throw is beyond me but let's get the Pro Bowl out the way first.

I didn't watch the Pro Bowl but I heard people didn't like the half assed "effort" the players were giving. It's understandable that players don't want to get hurt but the Pro Bowl in recent years have been awful. Either get rid of it, play it on Madden like last year or play it like flag football. They was basically playing touch football so just play flag football instead. The only noteworthy thing to come out of the Pro Bowl was Mac Jones doing the Griddy in the endzone. And Alvin Kamara was arrested after the game for beating up a guy before the game.

THE BIG GAME

2021 NFL season Super Bowl LVI Los Angeles Rams vs Cincinnati Bengals
Los Angeles Rams   16
Cincinnati Bengals   17

The last time they played each other, the Rams beat them 24-10 in 2019. This time, it's not considered a home game (like the Bucs last year) because it's the Super Bowl and Cincy is the "home team". Both of them have changed since then, yet they are so similar to each other.

Rams Bengals team comparisons

Both of them rather air it out than run the ball. Both of them have dynamic receivers. Both of them have surprisingly middle of the road defenses. And both of them have QBs that been sacked alot and thrown plenty of interceptions. The key here is can the Bengals line hold Aaron Donald and Von Miller back enough for Burrow to make enough plays to edge out a win? He's probably getting sacked 4, 5 times so hopefully they run the ball to take the pressure off him.

BTW, I noticed that the background for the teams' initials are black instead of team colored like before. Check out the before and after screenshots from their conference and week 1 games:

Cincinnati vs Kansas City conference championship

San Francisco vs Los Angeles conference championship

After

It's like they broke something when they was changing Football Team to Commanders on the site. Also it's interesting how they dropped the "R" from LA while the Chargers keeps the "C".
