The USFL answered a age old question, "If a fight breaks out in the USFL, does anyone care?". Judging how I just found out about it today when I went to their YouTube channel, that would be a no. Mike Pereira was talking about how he didn't want the USFL to be like the NHL where players are fighting all over the place but let's be real here, this "fight" during the Maulers-Breakers game barely ranks above baseball "brawls" in terms of violence.
It was a one sided affair where Breakers CB Keith Washington II took down Maulers WR Tre Walker after being shoved by him, then punched his helmet a couple times before he was pushed off and dragged away by Maulers DT Boogie Roberts. I would like to see the whole thing but no one cares enough about this league to post a clip online. There wasn't even a fan video of the scene! Probably because there's only like 50 people there. USFL games that the Stallions are not in make outlaw mud shows in a barn look like WrestleMania. Anyways, maybe the refs felt he did more damage to himself than his opponent so he didn't get ejected. But all 3 of them did get suspended this week. He's acting like this was Andre Johnson vs Cortland Finnegan.
THE GAMES
New Jersey Generals 24

The Generals needed a last second touchdown to beat a one win team that loss to a winless team the previous week. While Jordan Ta'amu threw for 333 yards and 4 TD passes and still lost (3 turnovers will do that to you). I pick the Generals to win but there's something more interesting than this game going on. Like, why the hell they have 4 QBs? They have De'Andre Johnson and Luis Perez running their duel QB system. They signed Guy Myers on the 19th when the USFL expanded their rosters. And they added Kyle Lauletta 2 days ago after the Maulers dropped him. De'Andre is injured so Luis will be starting but why sign Kyle when you already have a Guy?

It must be awkward to have to go to the hotel room across the hall or go to meetings, practice and dinner at a different time after being traded or waived since all the games are in Birmingham. You was teammates with these guys, now you're on these other guys team who you pass by when it's your turn to use the computer room. It must be really weird to go from playing for a team to playing against them the following week but that's what new Breakers QB Shea Patterson is going through. At least he gets to feel what it's like to be a winner for a change. BTW, the USFL gonna need to change their outro now that he's on a different team.
Birmingham Stallions 35

We went from 3 games on TV last week to only 1 this week. I didn't like how competitive the Panthers were against Birmingham for the majority of the game. Yeah the Stallions pulled away late but I really don't want their first lost this season to come to the Fighting Maulers.
Philadelphia Stars 21

I should stop flip flopping on my support of the Stars. I put them in the championship game, then I picked against them. If Matt Colburn II keeps gashing defenses like last week, I should stick with them till the end. Especially if he puts up another 3 TD day against the Crap Outs.
