I watched the NFL Draft last week so I only watched the primetime Saturday game between the Stallions and Breakers. FOX's Curt Menefee said these was the two highest scoring teams of the league but this was a defensive battle with the Stallions remaining as the last undefeated team. It was a entertaining game and the Birmingham fans was cheering their team on even though they was the "road" team. This is a busy week as we had May The 4th yesterday, I'm typing this on Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day is Sunday. Mother's Day will be the only thing to get a mention on the broadcast since I doubt anyone will show up to Friday or Saturday's games with sombreros or Storm Trooper helmets. So let's see can I go 3-1 for a 2nd straight week.
THE GAMES
Philadelphia Stars 25
Michigan Panthers 22
The Stars cost me a chance of going 4-0 last week. Neither team really did much in the game until the backup QBs came in to provide a spark off the bench. Case Cookus looked better throwing the ball downfield for the Stars when he took over for a injured Bryan Scott. While De’Andre Johnson led the Generals to victory with the read-option. The Panthers did a nice job running the ball down the Maulers throats but I don't think they will duplicate that dominance.
New Jersey Generals 32
Pittsburgh Maulers 0
Speaking of Maulers, they're gonna get mauled...again.
Tampa Bay Bandits 24
Birmingham Stallions 26
The Bandits was able to eke out a win with a late field goal but man, I don't see Jordon Ta'amu as the world beater he was in the XFL. Having Todd Haley as your coach does that to you.
Houston Gamblers 17
New Orleans Breakers 21
I don't have much else to say about this game except the USFL FINALLY added a stats page to their website! With that information now available, I'll go with the Breakers defense to win here.
LAST WEEK 3-1
OVERALL 7-5
