A couple weeks ago, I bemoaned that there are no runaway favorites this year in the UFL. With that said, the gap between the good and bad teams is so wide that the playoffs are already set 2 weeks early. Granted, it's easier to make the playoffs despite losing a game with a QB you got off the couch in an 8-team league. There are no upcoming easy wins or Toilet Bowls on the schedule where you watch in awe of 2 trash ass teams doing everything they can to snatch defeat from victory. So, I'm gonna talk about things other than Renegade screwups.
THE GAMES
St. Louis Battlehawks 24
San Antonio Brahmas 21
THANK GOD the attempt to ban the Tush Push failed. It wasn't for a lack of trying as the Packers only came up 2 votes short of getting it passed. The Eagles, Ravens, Browns, Lions, Jaguars, Dolphins, Patriots, Saints, Jets and Titans voted against the ban meaning there are 22 SOFT ASS TEAMS that didn't have the BALLS to stop the Tush Push or git gud in doing it themselves. With this many PUSSY ASS TEAMS, it's no wonder why the NFL became a passing league as running backs are expendable and defenses are neutered. I wonder how many more people would turn in to UFL games if smashmouth football was the selling point?
Arlington Renegades 35
Memphis Showboats 32
Another rule change that didn't go through was the Lions withdrawing their proposal of reseeding playoff teams 2-6 based on record while the 1st round bye goes to the division winner with the best record. I for one felt that would be bullshit. What would be the point of winning your division if you get homefield advantage despite not winning it? What makes divisional rivalries great is any loss throughout the season could tank your chances of hosting a playoff game. Warm weather teams would have a better chance of avoiding cold climates if this gets passed.
Michigan Panthers 15
Birmingham Stallions 17
FOX will broadcast their first Indy 500 Sunday as part of their 1st season of IRL coverage. Nascar fans were mad at them for how much attention they gave to IndyCar while Nascar races got shoved to FOX Business Channel or whatever. It shouldn't be too surprising since Indy is the shiny new toy while Nascar has been meh for over a decade. I used to watch Nascar when it was straight racing with a side of shenanigans from the Hollywood Hotel. But I lost interest once Nascar started adding stupid gimmicks like the "playoffs" and stage racing.
DC Defenders 25
Houston Gamblers 14
Speaking of Indianapolis, RIP Colts owner Jim Irsay.
LAST WEEK: 2-2
OVERALL: 20-12
