I've been running this blog for a while now as a way to share my opinions on what's happening in the NFL and spring football as well give Group of 5 schools an equal shot at a national championship as the Power 4. I don't expect the New York Times, Sports Illustrated or ESPN to hire me but it's still a nice hobby of mine to do on a weekly basis. After years of posting on Reddit, they're now flagging this blog as spam. So, if they pull this bullshit again, I might have to switch to WordPress or some other free website builder to get around their fuckery. I already hate their redesign so this is just another thing that will annoy the hell out of me.
THE GAMES
Denver Broncos 24
New Orleans Saints 19
I haven't watched a TNF game this season and judging by these teams, I'm not missing much.
New England Patriots 17
Jacksonville Jaguars 31
I also haven't watched a international game but that's because I don't feel like getting up early.
Seattle Seahawks 17
Atlanta Falcons 30
I can't wait for people to debate why a hot rapper from like, California was chosen to perform the Super Bowl LXII halftime show in Atlanta over someone from that area. You know it will happen.
Tennessee Titans 20
Buffalo Bills 17
I guess new Bills WR Amari Cooper needs time to gel with Josh Allen.
Cincinnati Bengals 35
Cleveland Browns 17
Meanwhile, Kevin Stefanski says Deshaun Watson gives the Browns the "best chance to win". It doesn't matter whether it's Deshaun or Jameis Winston starting with that garbage ass O-line.
Houston Texans 21
Green Bay Packers 10
The Texans already have 2 RBs they can depend on so they're trading Cam Akers back to the Vikings. Former Packer Aaron Jones has a hip injury so this trade should take the load off him.
Miami Dolphins 27
Indianapolis Colts 0
If the Dolphins backup QB put up scores like this on a regular basis, they wouldn't be so desperate for a returning Tua. Instead, he's clearly their best chance of salvaging this season.
Detroit Lions 20
Minnesota Vikings 17
Lions fans couldn't fully enjoy their curb stomping of the Cowboys because their star DE Aidan Hutchinson broke his leg. At least their DT Alim McNeill recently got a 4 year, $97M extension.
Philadelphia Eagles 17
New York Giants 28
I imagine Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made Nick Sirianni apologize for yelling at the home fans.
Las Vegas Raiders 28
Los Angeles Rams 32
Tom Brady was approved to be part of the Raiders ownership group buying 5% of the team. Since he started a 10-year deal with FOX as their top color guy, the NFL placed restrictions on him to minimalize the conflict of interest this caused. He's not allowed to do production meetings or do those pregame sit-down interview segments with players and coaches. He's also not allowed to criticize the refs or teams either, but he can call Raiders games. So basically, FOX is paying him more money to do less work than previous top guy Greg Olsen. Get that money Tom!
Carolina Panthers 23
Washington Commanders 28
The Commies defense wasn't that great anyway, but they will still miss their DT Jonathan Allen who is now out for season with torn pectoral muscle. Jayden Daniels better ice up that arm.
Kansas City Chiefs 45
San Francisco 49ers 28
You wouldn't know the Chiefs have the #23 offense by this score and record. Thank defense!
New York Jets 0
Pittsburgh Steelers 16
Never mind WR Davante Adams reuniting with Aaron Rodgers in a trade to the Jets, Mike Tomlin will Let Russ Cook! Of course, Tomlin could change his mind and put Justin Fields back in at QB if DangeRuss somehow start a kitchen fire while boiling water or pouring milk in cereal.
Baltimore Ravens 31
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 13
Bucs QB Baker Mayfield may lead the league in passing TDs with 15, but Ravens RB Derrick Henry leads in both rushing yards and TDs. So yeah, give me the #1 offense to win this game.
Los Angeles Chargers 10
Arizona Cardinals 17
Brady isn't the only person to buy a stake in a NFL team as Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores bought 27% of the Chargers. Even though the NFL now allows private equity funds to buy into teams, this is a separate purchase from his equity firm. He also won't have a say in the operations of the team which, thank God because the Pistons were straight up dookie at 14-68 last year. I'm just wondering which team will be the first to get that Saudi oil money. If I was a betting man, (I'm clearly not despite going 11-3 last week) my monies on the Jags.
In other news, their coach Jim Harbaugh will wear a heart monitor for 2 weeks due to an atrial flutter during the Broncos game last week. He will still coach during those games so that's a promising sign. He said it happened before in 1999 and 2012 so it's not a constant thing. But if he wants to, he could get an ablation procedure that creates scars in the heart which blocks the faulty signals that creates irregular heartbeat. That sounds scary so best of luck to Jim.
LAST WEEK: 11-3
OVERALL: 54-38
