2024 UFL All No Photo Team

Player head silhouette

Since this blog didn't exist over a decade ago, this is the 1st UFL All No Photo Team. The USFL in total had 27 players with the Roughnecks having 11 on their roster, 7 from the Panthers, 6 Stallions and 3 on the Showboats. While the XFL had 45 photoless players led by a whopping 17 Brahmas, 13 Defenders, 10 Renegades, and 5 from the Battlehawks. The makeup of these rosters is funny when you take into consideration how these conferences treated special teams back when they were separate leagues. The XFL didn't kick PATs but have 3 kickers on this list while the USFL have no kickers despite being a pro kickers league last season.

Every year there's a football player who has a name that you go "That can't be his real name". Whether it's Kool-Aid McKinstry, Taco Charlton or Storm Duck, there's always someone with a random name that I just have to search to see if it's real or not. There're some guys without a Wikipedia page but the headliner is Bumper Pool. His real name is actually James Morris Pool, but after years of people calling him Bumper all his life, he added the nickname when he got his driver's license. I can't help to think there's probably a poor shift manager with the same name.

As for colleges, since we're mainly dealing with free agents and practice squad players, there're plenty of schools I never heard of that get represented here like Southeastern Oklahoma State, SE Louisiana and Pittsburgh State. But there's 1 school that caught my attention and that was Globe. I searched for this school wondering what the hell is Globe and it turns out it was a for-profit college (think ITT Tech and DeVry University) in NYC that was shutdown in 2016. College already comes off like a scam if you're not going there to gain the skills for a well-paying job like a lawyer, doctor or professional athlete. But the students who go to these schools would've did better saving money by going to community college or trade schools and stay out of debt.

Speaking of colleges, you will notice DC's kicker Enrique Yenny Romero doesn't have one listed. That's because they got him straight from Liga de FĂștbol Americano Profesional in Mexico. Like with many kickers, he grew up playing soccer but his coach convinced him to play football after seeing him punt a football 60 yards with no training in high school. He went on to play college football for Borregos Salvajes Toluca where he won 2 CONADEIP championships then played in the LFA and even got drafted into the CFL! He has no stats in the UFL so I guess he didn't play considering Matthew McCrane played every game going 16/20 with a long of 58 yards.

No video again. I probably won't post it until sometime during the NFL season when I have nothing to talk about. Until then here's an AI recap of the Stallions beating the Brahmas.
