I can talk about the Army spending $11 million on the UFL some other time. I'm gonna spend what few amount of free time I have enjoying going 4-0 last week in my predictions. WOOOO!
THE GAMES
Memphis Showboats 10
St. Louis Battlehawks 27
St. Louis had to earn that win in San Antonio. The Brahmas was sniping at their heels for the whole game. A.J. McCarron had a nice day going 19-27 for 152 yards and a TD and even ran in one just fine. Memphis on the other hand got boat raced so bad Case Cookus got pulled early in the 4th quarter! I don't expect another blowout, but this could be another long day in the office.
D.C. Defenders 29
Birmingham Stallions 31
So it looks like Skip Holtz has his starting QB after all. After a couple weeks of flipflopping QBs Adrian Martinez stayed in for the whole game going 18-28 for 334 yards and 2 TDs. It was his running ability that put him over Matt Corral as he tacked on 44 rushing yards and a TD to his day. I'm not sold on Adrian just yet so I don't see him putting up that stat line against the Defenders who needed a last second field goal to beat the Renegades. This game will likely be won by the Stallions defense who leads the league with a staggering 17 sacks and 3 INTs.
Michigan Panthers 17
San Antonio Brahmas 15
When I looked at the schedule, I wondered why the hell they're scheduling 2 Saturday night games to play at the same time on FOX? Then I looked at the TV listings and saw how crowded the weekend is. NBA and NHL playoffs, Nascar at Talladega, collegiate softball and gymnastics, baseball and soccer are all preoccupying the family of networks of ESPN and FOX so they really had no choice. Unfortunately for the UFL, all of those sports have priority over their league. Man, imagine if your league got pushed aside in favor of cornhole, that's just embarrassing.
Arlington Renegades 13
Houston Roughnecks 3
One of these teams have to win in this Battle of the Winless as there are no ties in the UFL. Houston kept it close in the 1st half against Michigan but then the Panthers WENT OFF in the 3rd quarter to beat the Roughnecks in a mostly empty building. While the Renegades simply choked away a late lead against D.C. These are the defending XFL champions and they are winless while the defending USFL champ Stallions are undefeated. And you can't really blame Luis Perez for this as he leads the league with 737 passing yards to go with 4 TDs.
LAST WEEK: 4-0
OVERALL: 8-4
