With leagues becoming more and more hostile towards kicking, it's nice to see a game that reminds people this is FOOTball, not handegg. In this case, Jets Thomas Morstead and Giants Jamie Gillan put on a punting clinic as they combined for 24 punts in a game where only 23 points were scored. I don't have to be a former punter to respect their performance.
THE GAMES
Tennessee Titans 38
Pittsburgh Steelers 6
Today doesn't feel like a Thursday until I speed through this review.
Miami Dolphins 24
Kansas City Swifties 34
The European tour resumes as the NFL returns to Germany with former Chief Tyreek Hill looking to beat his old team. I wonder will the crowd sing Taylor Swift songs during the game?
Minnesota Vikings 16
Atlanta Falcons 10
Falcons QB Desmond Ridder keeps turning the ball over so Taylor Heinicke will start against the Vikings who just lost Kirk Cousins for the year with an Achillies tear. I figured since Minnesota traded for Joshua Dobbs, he will replace Kirk but instead, it's rookie Jaren Hall.
Seattle Seahawks 30
Baltimore Ravens 10
Why won't people talk about the Seahawks more? East coast bias. Duh.
Utah Buckeyes 9
Cleveland Browns 10
Why won't people talk about Cleveland's #1 defense? Because they're the Browns. Duh.
Los Angeles Rams 10
Green Bay Packers 27
Sean McVay should've moved to broadcasting after winning the Super Bowl.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24
Houston Texans 26
The Astros didn't repeat as World Series champs but the state of Texas did!
Washington Commanders 31
New England Patriots 7
Sack Watch: Sam Howell is up to 41 for 276 yards. OUCH!
Chicago Bears 19
New Orleans Saints 7
The Bears fired their RB coach even though they're 5th in rushing. Can you say scapegoat?
Indianapolis Colts 9
Carolina Panthers 6
The Panthers finally won their first game of the season. They won't go back-to-back.
New York Giants 17
Las Vegas Raiders 10
Not only did the Raiders fire both their head coach and GM, they benched Jimmy G in favor of rookie Aidan O'Connell because as owner Mark Davis says, they "were going in the wrong direction". They should've stuck with Rich Bisaccia. How many coaches do you have to fire midseason before people say ownership is the problem. Like goddamn, he's still paying Jon Gruden!!! So now it's up to former Super Bowl champion Antonio Pierce to turn this ship around.
Dallas Cowboys 36
Philadelphia Eagles 3
Rangers are world champions AND the Boys blow out the Birds? Arlington is eating good!
Buffalo Bills 19
Cincinnati Bengals 41
There's plenty of think pieces over this SNF game so I can skip this part.
Los Angeles Chargers 17
New York Jets 10
Just stay afloat. That's all Aaron Rodgers need you to do Jets, just stay afloat.
LAST WEEK: 9-7
OVERALL: 65-57
