No One's Getting 8 Wins In The NFC East. NFL Week 11 Preview

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones runs away from Philadelphia Eagles Rodney McLeod for a touchdown during the first half of an week 10 NFL football game in East Rutherford, N.J.

With the Giants' 27-17 win over the Eagles last week, the possibility of a under .500 division winner of the NFC East becomes more and more likely. Despite the loss, the Eagles still lead the division with a 3-5-1 record and have the best chance at reaching 8 wins while Dallas, NYG, and Washington all have 7 loses right now. Their main problem is they have "crabs in a bucket" mentality beating each other while losing every out of division game minus the Cowboys fluke Week 2 win against the Falcons.

If you look at each team's schedule, you will be hard pressed to pick a non-divisional game that's winnable for ANY of these teams!

NFC East standings

The Eagles have the toughest road to 8 wins as they only have Dallas and Washington to feed off of while having to fend off three 6 win and two 7 win teams. I can only see them beating Cleveland which would give them 6 wins counting the divisional matchups.

Philadelphia Eagles remaining schedule.

The Giants only have Dallas remaining in the division but they do play a 2-6-1 Bengals next Sunday. Outside of their own Cleveland game, I don't see them winning more than 6 games.

New York Giants remaining schedule.

Good News: Washington has three teams with losing records to go with their two rivalry games left on their schedule.

Bad News: The other two games are against Super Bowl contenders.

This Team is just as likely to go 5-2 down the stretch as they are to go 0-7 so who knows what to expect out of this pseudo named Team.

Washington Football Team remaining schedule

Even though they're dead last, the Cowboys may have the best chance at reaching .500. Assuming Dallas wins all of their rivalry games (LOL) they face a average Vikings, talented Ravens, bad Bengals and a hobbled 49ers squad. If they can steal three wins, that will get them past that respectability threshold.

Dallas Cowboys remaining schedule.

So in other words, if you want them to stop pulling each other down and produce a 8 win team, root for the Eagles since they have 2 losses to spare. Or, you could root for the Cowboys since they have a "easier" remaining schedule this season.

THE GAMES

2020 NFL season week 11 Arizona Cardinals vs Seattle Seahawks

Arizona Cardinals   27
Seattle Seahawks   30

Tonight's the rematch of their Week 7 overtime loss to the Cardinals. Despite the similar record, the Seahawks are at a huge disadvantage with their league worst defense trying to stop Kyler Murray and his league best offense. So they will need DangeRuss to stop turning the ball over and throw some TDs to keep them in the game. It will also help if they run the ball as well. A opposing QB having more rushing TDs than your entire team is pathetic.

2020 NFL season week 11 Cincinnati Bengals vs Washington Football team
Cincinnati Bengals         13
Washington [deleted]     23

The Bengals waived Takkarist McKinley after he failed a physical. That's the only noteworthy thing I can say about this sorry ass team. Maybe next year they will improve the offensive line so Joe Burrow will actually have time to throw the ball. He's 9th in passing yards with 2,485 with a 12-5 TD-INT ratio but he's 2nd in the league for times sacked with 32 for 231 yards. I know I expressed my concern for him back in weeks seven, three and one but it can't be overstated that they will ruin this promising talent if they can't protect him longer than it takes to say Ochocinco. Oh, and good luck to Alex Smith on starting the rest of the season.

2020 NFL season week 11 Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints
Atlanta Falcons           33
New Orleans Saints    24

I find it doubtful that Drew Brees will be back in two weeks after breaking his ribs and suffering a collapsed lung Sunday. If Jameis Winston's offseason eye surgery went as successful as they claim, then they shouldn't need Brees until the playoffs because Winston would keep them ahead in the NFC South. If not, then Famous Jameis Turnovers is back open baby!

WOOF! WOOF! Taysom Hill will start instead! WOOF! WOOF!

2020 NFL season week 11 Pittsburgh Steelers vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Pittsburgh Steelers       17
Jacksonville Jaguars    14

Mike Tomlin miffed those who love themselves some Wednesday Night MACtion when he said 'We're not a Big Ten team playing a MAC opponent' when asked about this "trap game" against the Jaguars. He has a point, any team can beat any team regardless of their record because they're all professionals here, not a top tier team vs jobbers playing for a check. But I still wanted to see what was the Big Ten's record vs the MAC and unsurprisingly the B1G dominates the MAC. The overall record is 293-54-2 and 4-1 in bowl games. However, at least one MAC team won their matchup going back to 2006 along with four teams getting the most wins in a year in 2008. Having said that, the Steelers should eke out a win here.

2020 NFL season week 11 New England Patriots vs Houston Texans
New England Patriots     26
Houston Texans              16

I don't have much to say about this game despite the Patriots getting a much needed win against the Ravens on Sunday Night. So here are some insights into how bad the Patriots are:
  • The Patriots WRs only have 1 receiving TD this season.
  • The Patriots are averaging 21.0 PPG this season, the fewest since Bill Belichick's first season with NE in 2000.
  • Deshaun Watson (1-2) is the only Texans QB to defeat the Patriots since 2010 (Previous QBs combined 0-4).

2020 NFL season week 11 Philadelphia Eagles vs Cleveland Browns
Philadelphia Eagles       29
Cleveland Browns           7

On the first stop of their "Road To 8" they visit insurance salesman Baker Mayfield in Cleveland. For this trip to start off smoothly, Carson Wentz has got to get his shit together because having a sub-100 passer rating in each game is not gonna cut it in this close NFC East. Even if the Eagles have won 5 straight games going back to the Belichick Browns Era.

2020 NFL season week 11 Detroit Lions vs Carolina Panthers
Detroit Lions              10
Carolina Panthers     33

So with Teddy Bridgewater likely out with a MCL sprain, it's XFL 2020 Champion P.J. Walker (or Will Grier)'s time to shine! Getting them extra reps and balling out might be the extra audition tape he needs to land him a starting role next season. Good luck!

2020 NFL season week 11 Tennessee Titans vs Baltimore Ravens
Tennessee Titans     3
Baltimore Ravens   20

It's the battle of teams who seem to have lost their mojo as of late. Both of them started off the season hot but they seem to have hit a wall and now they're coming out sluggish making ill timed errors. They're both playoff contenders but whatever problems they have, they better fix it before it's too late. Don't let the Madden Curse affect you Lamar!

2020 NFL season week 11 New York Jets vs Los Angeles Chargers
NY Jets              24
LA Chargers     62

Athletes are known to be superstitious. Some eat the same meal before game day, others abstain from sex the night before. They get into these little routines before games because if they do do something different and have a bad game, then he will blame that change of routine for his poor performance. Then there are others who try something new to rid themselves of the bad mojo. Take Justin Herbert for example, he cut his hair this week. He says there was "No particular reason. It was just time" but I think it has something to do with the Chargers' 2-7 record. Whatever reason he decided to cut it, it won't change the outcome of this beat down on the totally not tanking Jets.

Now that he has short hair, I notice all the acne on his face. He could use a Clearasil sponsorship!

2020 NFL season week 11 Miami Dolphins vs Denver Broncos

Miami Dolphins    22
Denver Broncos   17

Drew Lock injured his ribs in his loss to the Raiders so he's doubtful to play Sunday vs the Dolphins. Honestly, that's not much of a loss and backup QBs Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien can put up just as good (or bad) of a performance as Lock. So let's see how the Broncos cope?

2020 NFL season week 11 Dallas Cowboys vs Minnesota Vikings
Dallas Cowboys       17
Minnesota Vikings   58

So it looks like Andy Dalton will start against the Vikings after battling a concussion and Coronavirus. It may not matter how healthy he is if the defense is as porous as before he got hurt. If the simulation is correct, the Cowboys' "Road To 8" will start off with four flat tires.

2020 NFL season week 11 Green Bay Packers vs Indianapolis Colts
Green Bay Packers    24
Indianapolis Colts      31

There are still some doubts as to whether the Colts are a legitimate playoff team or not. We know their #1 defense is capable of holding off Aaron Rodgers, but can their middle of the pack offense chip in some scores to win the game? Time will tell.

2020 NFL season week 11 Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders
Kansas City Chiefs    10
Las Vegas Raiders     34

The Chiefs were mad the Raiders took a victory lap around Arrowhead Stadium before heading home after their Week 5 win. Andy Reid gave us that "Play The Game The Right Way" type bullshit from baseball and Patrick Mahomes promised they wouldn't lose again. I wonder how salty would they be if they loss again to the Raiders?

2020 NFL season week 11 Los Angeles Rams vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Los Angeles Rams            17
Tompa Bay Buccaneers    10

GODDAMMIT ANTONIO BROWN!!! Even when he's not doing anything he gets into trouble. Before he signed with the Bucs, he destroyed a surveillance camera at the Hollywood gated community he lives in and threw his bicycle at a security-guard shack on October 15th. There was probable cause to charge him with misdemeanor criminal mischief but the homeowners association president declined to press charges out of fear of "retaliation against her employees.” In non shitty news, the NFL will make history with a all Black officiating crew for this game. So that's something Jeopardy can use only to be avoided until the end of the round.

LAST WEEK      8-6
OVERALL       82-64-1
