The Birmingham Stallions have been a dominant force in spring football winning 3 straight league championships, but that all changed when they lost to the Defenders 18-11. I didn't see the dominant force of nature that was expected from the squad. Alex McGough played like someone who spent the past year sitting around on someone's practice squad as a wide receiver going 10 for 23 for 89 yards a TD and a INT. His offensive line did him no favors giving up 8 sacks as he ran around like a chicken with its head cut off. I like to think this was just rust but if McGough struggles again, I see Skip Holtz making the quick switch to Matt Corral.
THE GAMES
Birmingham Stallions 21
Michigan Panthers 19
Birmingham better wakeup because the Panthers will look for a better start than last week.
Memphis Showboats 6
DC Defenders 28
Meanwhile DC's defense will continue their early dominance against a crappy Memphis.
Houston Gamblers 3
Arlington Renegades 35
Speaking of crappy, Houston is gonna have another crappy day against the Renegades.
San Antonio Brahmas 15
St. Louis Battlehawks 24
No A.J McCarron, no problem. Granted, it was against the trash ass Houston Gamblers but it was still a dominant win. As for the Brahmas, they got their ass WHOOPED! It was actually a close enough game at halftime but Arlington just poured it on San Antonio in the second half. Offense was never a strength for Wade Phillips teams but without a defense too, they're cooked.
LAST WEEK: 2-2
