If you follow my subreddit, you know that I like wrestling. I may not have watched a full episode since I was living out of a hotel but I keep up with it through podcasts, online clips and YouTube channels hosted by Brits. So I know it's been a while since 2 major names swap companies like this. Jade Cargill leaves AEW for WWE to get the best training and more exposure. While Edge, I mean, Adam Copeland fresh off retiring from the WWE goes to AEW to experience creative freedom and work with guys he never been in the ring with before and old friend Christian Cage.
After firing CM Punk, Tony Khan needed a big name to keep the network happy and Edge is that guy. While Jade hit her ceiling in AEW and with the WWE being part of a media conglomerate now, she can take her brand to new heights. I feel the WWE wrestlers who leave for AEW will be midcardders who felt they were underutilized and older stars looking to do things they weren't able to do and say before. While Dub wrestlers who head off to the Fed are those who are tired of the backstage drama or want a bigger platform and more opportunities AEW can't provide. It's gonna be interesting to see who else will jump to the rival company in the future.
THE GAMES
Chicago Bears 9
Washington Commanders 13
That has to be demoralizing to choke away a 28-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter to lose 31-28 with a late interception. It's just a mess in Chicago and you can add a disgruntled Chase Claypool to the mix who halfasses it on the field. It's so bad, people actually think the Commanders would take the winless Bears lightly. Sure let's just ignore that Sam Howell has been sacked for a league high 24 times this young season. That averages out to 6 times a game! With that said, Washington should pull out a close win here to go 3-2 for the season thanks to a late TD.
London Jaguars 17
Buffalo Bills 14
Whenever the NFL creates a European division, I'm 99.9% sure the Jaguars will relocate to London. I don't know will they still be the Jags or London AFC but this 2 week stint oversees tells me that Jacksonville's days are numbered in keeping this team. Maybe AEW will fold by then.
Houston Texans 28
Atlanta Falcons 19
Falcons QB Desmond Ridder has been sacked 16 times and only threw 3 TDs to match his INTs this season. He would benefit from learning from a veteran but since they don't have that luxury, he's out there leading their dead last passing attack against the Texans 13th ranked defense. It's so annoying when terrible teams ruin QBs before they even get a legitimate shot at success.
Carolina Panthers 10
Detroit Lions 27
I should really do better at getting these posts out faster.
Tennessee Titans 24
Indianapolis Colts 6
Awful offense vs awful defense, who a got? I got the Titans taking advantage of Colts awful D.
New York Giants 17
Miami Dolphins 16
The Dolphins went from blowing the fuck out of the Broncos to getting embarrassed by the Bills. They have the #1 offense but that 26th ranked defense is a liability. That explains the close loss.
New Orleans Saints 20
New England Patriots 27
It looks more and more like Belichick needed Brady far more than Brady needed Belichick. Sad.
Baltimore Ravens 28
Pittsburgh Steelers 13
Mike Tomlin's seat will get a hell of a lot warmer if they lose after not firing Matt Canada.
Cincinnati Bengals 16
Arizona Cardinals 3
How little faith must the Bengals have in their backup QBs to keep putting a clearly hampered Joe Burrow out there? Their backup is Jake Browning while AJ McCarron is back collecting checks on the practice squad. Now I don't know about Jake but I call bullshit that hobbled Joe gives them a better chance at winning than AJ at 100%. Did they not see him in the XFL?
Philadelphia Eagles 17
Los Angeles Rams 23
New York Jets 10
Denver Broncos 31
You have to be a real shitbird to cause fans to rush to the defense of Jets QB Zach Wilson after them wanting him ran out of town the week prior. NBC talking head Rodney Harrison accomplished that when he tried to bait Chiefs Chris Jones into talking shit about Zach. Like damn, it's one thing to talk shit about Zach, it's another to try to bait opponents in bashing him as well. Everybody wants to be like Stephen A Smith but have none of the drawing personality.
Kansas City Swifties 27
Minnesota Vikings 17
Enough with the Taylor Swift coverage...
Dallas Cowboys 27
San Francisco 49ers 42
Looks like the Cowboys could've used Randy Gregory's services after the Broncos released him. He actually got traded to the Niners but he won't play in this game. What a bummer.
Green Bay Packers 19
Las Vegas Raiders 17
These past 4 weeks, I thought ESPN simply put games on ABC for the hell of it, get their monies worth of Joe & Troy, get their monies worth of Snoop Dogg doing a cover of Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight", NFL made them do it, etc. I didn't realize they did it because of the writer/actors strikes since I don't watch these garbage ass TV programs. The writers strike is over but MNF will continue to air on ABC for the rest of the season, which is great for me since I don't have ESPN. Honestly, I feel they should keep doing the simulcasts since even the crappiest game would pull in higher ratings than whatever dreck passes as comedy nowadays or another crime/legal/hospital drama where most of the cast look like models and they sneak off to bone in a broom closet/empty room. I better enjoy MNF on free TV before Disney sells off ABC.
LAST WEEK: 10-6
OVERALL: 37-27
