When referees fuck up in a given week, they fuck up in bunches. Whether it's the Colts being called for passing interference on a ball that bounced into the stands (The NFL later admitted to Jim Irsay that the refs fucked up). The refs giving the Steelers the first down despite Kenny Pickett clearly being short. A ridiculous kick catch interference penalty against FIU. Iowa getting screwed out of a punt return TD over a bullshit invalid fair catch ruling that led to an epic Iowa fan rant. And many more bad calls in other games that's not uploaded to YouTube.
People keep saying if referees were full-time, then you wouldn't have these problems because they will spend their off time getting better instead of working as a teacher. They're ignoring it would require giving these refs a huge raise to convince them to give up their day jobs to make this NFL referee side gig a full-time career. I highly doubt they would do that considering a lot of these guys and gals have good paying jobs. I see lawyers, bankers, real estate developers, financial advisors and other careers that probably dwarfs whatever the NFL pays them. And you know damn well fans would get mad if refs were getting paid million-dollar contracts. So, I say bring in the robot refs (or an eye in the sky) to make calls over the PA system.

Remember when people were gushing over Brett Maher's kicking percentage last season then it all went to shit in an instant? The Cowboys later dumped him and after a pit stop in Denver, he landed on the Rams roster. After missing 2 field goals and a PAT in a close loss to the Steelers, they kicked him to the curb as well. They then signed Lucas Havrisik off the Browns practice squad even though he was only 64.2% during college for the Arizona Wildcats. I know he's not a long term solution but former Packer Mason Crosby could've been a better choice. I would've also said another former Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey but he's apparently a pilot now.

After ruining the Colts' day, Browns DE Myles Garrett joined the latest trend of NFL players buying ownership stakes into teams across various leagues. Tom Brady brought into the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces. J.J. Watt and his soccer star wife invested into Burnley. Marshawn Lynch is part of the Seattle Kraken ownership group. So, Myles brought a minority stake into the Cleveland Cavileers since he had previous interactions with the team due to his basketball background. I guess the players who do this want to say that they're owners without having the responsibilities of one. If they really wanted to be an owner of a team, it's pretty easy to be an indoor football team owner. Or they can keep buying shares of rando European soccer teams.
