The Battlehawks made their long-awaited return to St. Louis and the fans came out in force. This fanbase supported the BattleHawks back in 2020 because they were still pissed at the Rams leaving them for LA. It makes you think, if for some dumb reason the XFL expands, why not put the teams in cities that are mad at the NFL like Oakland and San Diego? Or hell, put it in football crazed markets that has zero shot of an NFL team like Omaha? It also helps that this team is a winner, so fans are more likely to show up than if they sucked. Now on to the games.
THE GAMES
Houston Roughnecks 35
Seattle Sea Dragons 12
Houston just straight up dominated Orlando and I expect them to continue the win streak against Seattle. The Sea Dragons was in a kicking contest for most of their game against the Brahmas, so they have no chance here. Also, Houston's double pass was a neat tribute to Mike Leach.
D.C. Defenders 21
St. Louis Battlehawks 24
They're probably hyping up this rematch but I doubt much will come out of this "rivalry". Especially considering the commentators were clutching their pearls going "WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!" over the couple of scuffles near the end of the game. Like damn, I saw more action in a women's college basketball game. In other words, it's no Bengals-Steelers. Both teams struggled with lesser competition, so I go with St. Louis here.
Orlando Guardians 9
Vegas Vipers 10
Is Quinten Dormady still giving out plays to opponents or is Terrell Buckley just a bad coach? They're 0-4 so me thinks it's the latter. I should've seen this coming when he buried his team during a sideline interview in week 2. Bad coaches tend to blame others for their fuckups, especially when they're a dipshit hardass coach. The Vipers gave the Defenders fits at first but couldn't keep up at the end. With that said, they should win the Battle of Winless Teams.
I'm not ready to say FUCK THIS GUY like with Matt Nagy and Kirby Wilson but it's obvious his reserve list QB isn't the reason this team sucks. |
Arlington Renegades 16
San Antonio Brahmas 13
Neither team really impressed me much last week, so I guess I pick the Renegades to win.
LAST WEEK 4-0
OVERALL 12-4
