Chase McLaughlin and Brandon McManus put on a show much to the chagrin of
everybody else. Unlike Packers-Bengals
last season, these kickers made
(most) of their kicks. It's just that both offenses was so shitty they kept
settling for field goals. hell, it was the first time a game between 2 QBs
who played in a Super Bowl ended with neither scoring a TD. That's a random
tidbit to come up with but it just shows how awful Matt Ryan and Russell
Wilson are this season. So just like last year (same week!) I made a kicking highlight video + bonus content.
THE GAMES
Washington Stallions 17
Chicago Bears 23
This game probably won't turn into a field goal kicking contest but man the
Bears offense and Commanders defense is trash!. And Ron Rivera had the
nerve to
blame
Carson Wentz for why they're 1-4. Never mind that he's
5th in passing yards with 1,390 along with 10 TDs. He's also 3rd in INTs with 6 and
times sacked with 20. He's not perfect but there's bigger reasons as to
why they are at the bottom of the NFC East. And while we're at it, let's
compare these teams.
I just might get this post off in time before the game starts. |
The Eagles have a great offense and defense. The Cowboys have a top 10
defense and their running game makes life easier for their backup QB
Cooper Rush. And The Giants rely on their defense and rushing attack to
win as well. While in Washington, all they got is their passing game. Ron
later
apologized
but the damaged is already done. Once the coach starts burying his players
to cover his ass, it's time for him to go. Especially if his record is
barely
over .500.
San Francisco 49ers 24
Atlanta Falcons 6
The Falcons got
fucked over. I get that star calls is a thing in sports where star players get calls
that
others don't. I also accept that this is a passing league and the NFL wants their
star QBs on the field so they make up stupid rules like flagging defenders
for landing on them. But this roughing the passer penalty on Grady Jarrett
was absolute bullshit. He didn't land on Tom Brady. He didn't drive him
into the ground. He
whipped
him down like a Madden tackle animation.
Of course the dumbfuck ref Jerome Boger
defended
the call telling Greg Auman of The Athletic, "What I had was the defender
grabbed the quarterback while he was still in the pocket and unnecessarily
throwing him to the ground. That is what I was making my decision based
upon." Like, how the hell else was he suppose to tackle Brady from that
position? Grady
talked
about it on his radio show trying his best not to get fined for
criticizing the refs. I won't say it cost them the game since they didn't
do dick till late in the game but fans should chant "FUCK YOU REFS" for
every bad call the rest of the season. Also Brady tried to kick him in the
dick.
New England Patriots 13
Cleveland Browns 6
Is Jacoby Brissett the
weak link
on the Browns? Yeah, he's not
expected
to sling the ball but this top tier defense and running game is being
wasted. The Deshaun Watson
countdown
is on.
New York Jets 20
Green Bay Packers 31
So why aren't the Packers
running the ball
more? They're
statically
better at running than passing after all. And with all this complaining
about the receivers, why not run the ball more? Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon
has a combined 635 yards and 2 TDs this season while Jalen Hurts has 369 less yards but 4
more TDs! When 2 RBs are scoring less than a QB, you got a problem.
Jacksonville Jaguars 28
Indianapolis Colts 16
The Jaguars brought
shame
to the people of Jacksonville by
losing
to a then winless Texans squad. This perfectly
average
team should win here but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
Minnesota Vikings 31
Miami Dolphins 10
So what's going on with Teddy Two Gloves? He's still in concussion
protocols even though he shows no symptoms and has a elbow injury. I knew
Tua's injury would cause the NFL to make up some bullshit that would fuck
things up like they always do. That's why the refs are throwing flags on
routine sacks lately. They always have to overcorrect on issues and
ruin games.
Cincinnati Bengals 6
New Orleans Saints 13
Taysom Hill had a a stellar
4 TD game against the Seahawks
Sunday. It's amazing what you can do when you play to your
strengths, i.e running the ball. Let's see will they do the same here.
Baltimore Ravens 30
New York Giants 20
Kickers, Punters and special teamers in general gets
disrespected
by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ray Guy was finally inducted in 2014
while Morten Andersen didn't get inducted until 2017. The majority of the
K/P in the hall played other positions before football became specialized.
With that said,
Justin Tucker
should be a first ballot HOF. He's the league's most accurate kicker. He
holds the record for longest field goal among other records. It's just a
shame that the HOF doesn't consider those who actually y'know, KICK the
ball "real" football players.
Tompa Bay Buccaneers 16
Pittsburgh Steelers 7
The Bucs got bailed out by the refs Sunday cause Atlanta definitely had
momentum up to that moment. Now they play a Steelers squad that showed
more fight in that shoving match than in the game
vs the Bills.
Both teams
are bad on defense and at running the ball so this might be another
grinder. Kenny Pickett may get better but Brady should really retire for
good.
Carolina Panthers 3
Los Angeles Rams 26
After 5 games, we have our first head coaching
casualty
as the Panthers fired Matt Rhule. He was another college coach who was in
over his head and couldn't cut it in the NFL. As he ponders what college
he will go to, defensive passing game(?) coordinator/secondary coach
Steve Wilks takes over as interim coach. I felt he didn't get a fair shot
in his one season coaching Arizona in 2018. The
roster
was not great and he probably would have the same amount of
success
with Kyler Murray as Kliff Kingsbury is having with him.
Wilks won't have much to work with this season. The Panthers are
5th in defense
but dead last in offense. Add on
XFL Legend
P.J Walker
likely to start
due to Baker Mayfield's injury and this could be a long season if a
winning culture
isn't instituted. Good luck with that David Tepper!
Arizona Cardinals 13
Seattle Seahawks 38
Speaking of Cardinals, Kliff might find himself out of a job if they don't
make a deep playoff run. They have the
#1 defense
but everything else is average. It's like they have the talent but they
keep getting in their own way. The Seahawks are no better but they at
least seem competent.
Buffalo Bills 42
Kansas City Chiefs 17
Thankfully the Chiefs are a good enough team to
overcome
their own
bullshit
roughing the passer penalty. Chris Jones stripped the ball from Derek Carr
before landing on him for the strip sack. Instead of a fumble, that
fucktard Carl Cheffers flagged him
ruling that "He gets full protection of all the aspects of what we give the
quarterback in a passing posture. So, when he was tackled, my ruling was
the defender landed on him with full body weight." Never mind that Chris
braced himself so he wouldn't land all 300 pounds on Derek and he couldn't
really move to the side anyways because HE FORCED A FUCKING FUMBLE!
When ESPN's Adam Teicher asked does the fumble negate the roughing the
passer penalty, "No, because he still gets passing protection until
he can defend himself". I hate these fucking refs. I also hate the rules
committee and everyone who's responsible for these rule changes. I doubt
robots would help and I won't leave like I did Nascar but FUCK THESE REFS!
Dallas Cowboys 13
Philadelphia Eagles 17
Cowboys-Eagles is usually a marquee matchup but this is
worthy
of SNF with both teams actually being good. Philly should win this but the
Boys will give them a run for their money.
Denver Broncos 16
Los Angeles Chargers 13
"Let Russ Cook". That's all we heard to excuse him being traded from
Seattle to Denver. After 5 games, it looks like Russ IS cooked. Their loss
to the Colts was one of the worse displays of offense ineptitude I've ever
seen. Thank God the Colts was just as inept or it would've been a blowout.
Is he struggling because he's
not as mobile
as he used to? Is it because he has a
baseball injury? Or is Nathaniel Hackett just a shitty coach? It's probably all of
the above.
