Since I have another topic to talk about for the
Pro Bowl, this is the only time I will get this hot take in: EA Sports
College Football 25 is mid. I understand people were excited for the return
of the college football video game that it was the
highest selling
sports game ever in the US surpassing NBA 2K21 and
second-best
seller of 2024 behind Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. I also understand people
were thrilled that the likeness of current players was in the game instead
of generic players even though none of the coaches are in it. And yes, it's neat that different teams have their own pregame
introductions, turnover rituals and celebrations. But if you take off the
nostalgia glasses, you'll see this is a meh game for something that came
from a AAA company.
For instance, I finished the FVB Sports FBS Playoffs
last week and during those simulations, I got annoyed with how repetitive
the commentary was. What made it worse was they rarely said the players,
teams and bowl game names compared to NCAA Football 14. And speaking of
repetition, there are way too many crowd shots of the same models doing the
same thing. This may come off as nitpicky but let's just be real here. The lackluster
graphics combined with the limited customization, repetitive crowd shots,
cheerleaders looking the same on both squads and upside-down fields makes
this an easy pass for NCAA Football 17 on the Xbox 360. There was nothing
really that blew me away compared to other games that came out last year.
Now if you excuse me, I got some playoff stats to collect and maybe 3 more
AI written posts to do.
THE GAMES
Washington Commanders 24
Philadelphia Eagles 17
Commies QB Jayden Daniels is a lock
to win
Offensive Rookie of the Year but with the way Dan Quinn turned this
franchise around, he should win Coach of the Year as well (And Sam Darnold
should win Comeback Player of the Year and offensive linemen should get
their
own award).
Buffalo Bills 22
Kansas City Chiefs 10
We got another game where people
accuse
the refs and NFL in general helping the Chiefs win. Here's the thing,
Patrick Mahomes is the face of the league so he's gonna get calls that
lesser QBs won't. That's the case in every sport where the top players get
star calls while the others can't catch a break. The best way to combat
that is to play a perfect game with no turnovers, no penalties and scoring
on every drive. Hopefully the Bills can shut down Taylor Swifts'
team.
LAST WEEK: 2-2
PLAYOFFS: 5-5
