I Present The National Collegiate Football League. NFL Pro Bowl Preview

Now that the FBS Playoffs are over, let me take time out of compiling the stats from the tournament to solve a long developing problem in college football. As college football becomes more professionalized and people get more and more fed up with the NCAA's bullshit, I feel it's time for the Power 4 schools to break free from the NCAA and form their own league. This has been a topic for a while as people expected teams to form 16 team super conferences. Pat McAfee even asked the SEC commissioner about it during their championship game. Let's ignore the various excuses people would come up with for why this won't work shall we?

If you count the ACC, SEC, Big Ten and Big 12 schools together, you will have 67 teams. I would need to add 5 more schools to give me a even 72 programs so each conference would have 18 teams like the Big Ten will have this upcoming season. They will play 9 conference games in their 12-game schedule plus the conference championships to decide the top 4 seeds in the playoffs. Despite all of these teams in the league, a 12-team playoff would still fit best because I'm sure the top tier bowl games like the Rose, Orange, Sugar etc bowls would accept the ones that didn't make the playoff. I would draw up the conference alignments like this.

There's no point of taking geography into account considering all those west coast Pac-12 schools these Power 4 conferences absorbed. So I made Notre Dame a fulltime member of the ACC to get them up to 18. The unwanted schools of Oregon State and Washington State goes to the Big 12 so Arizona and Arizona State won't be so lonely over there. I also added Tulane and Rice to the SEC so they can be with their rivals LSU and Texas. The leftover Group of 5 schools can just merge with the FCS schools so NCAA Division I football would be united like in other sports. (Or the Big Ten and SEC could go into business for themselves and make their own league.) The Pro Bowl Games starts later today so I predict the AFC wins 33-27.

LAST WEEK: 0-2
PLAYOFFS:   7-5
